Stefano MULINARI (Florence 1741ca - 1790ca) "Supplizio di damati" Original etching and aquatint monogrammed and dated in the plate on the bottom right "SM. Incis: an 1780 ", from a drawing by Michelangelo preserved in the Uffizi Drawings and Prints Cabinet, contained in the magnificent collection entitled" Original drawings of excellent painters existing in the Florence Gallery engraved and imitated in their sizes and colors "published in various shots and with partially different titles between 1774 and 1785. Beautiful specimen printed in brown on laid paper bearing the Heawood 2930 watermark, not exactly dated but referable to Italian paper production of the 18th century, with large margins beyond the imprint of the slab and in a generally perfect state of conservation. Bibliography: Benezit "Dictionnaire des Peintres .."
